Failed to connect to the RPC server on computer "Exch1.domain.com"
I am running Exchange 2010. We use some scripts occasionally to query information from our Exchange servers (message tracking logs etc). However, there are two servers for when I run this scripts remotely, they return this error: Failed to connect to the RPC server on computer "Exch1.domain.com". Verify that a valid computer name was used I went onto the server and checked that the RPC service was running. So I'm a bit lost, any ideas?

Check if windows firewall is properly configured to allow "Remote Administration on these servers.Shaba

Running the script locally on the server works? If yes that I'd look into to see if something is blocking this as suggested a firewall. Sukh

Hi Neil4933, Any updates? Please also run the cmdlet Get-MessageTrackinglog -Server Exch1.domain.com on the remote computer to test. Please ping the Exch1.domain.com as well.Frank Wang TechNet Community Support
